CEP 811: Applying  Educational Technology to Issues of  Practice
CEP 816: Teaching and Learning Across the Curriculum
CEP 810: Teaching for Understanding with Technology

Summer 2012------ Professors: Jodi Spicer, Alison Killer, Craig McMichael

CEP 810 was the first class in the MAET program. It was an introduction to the current technologies that can be incorporated in my teaching and how to find their affordances and constraints.  We discussed with one another the importance of a Personal Learning Network (PLN) and how to use them efficiently.  This is also the first time I was introduced to the Technology Pedagogy and Content Knowledge (TPACK) model and how it's essential that teachers pull technology into their curriculum, not build curriculum around a technology.

CEP 800: Learning in School and Other Settings
CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technologies in Education
CEP 815: Technology and Leadership
TE 846: Accommodating Different Literacy Learners
CEP 822: Approaches to Educational Research
CEP 807: Proseminar in Educational Technology

Summer 2012------ Professors: Alison Keller, Jodi Spicer, Craig McMichael

In CEP812 we explored "wicked problems" within our content areas.  After we identified the problem we then needed to devise a solution using the TPACK model.  This included identifying the problem and then exploring how technology could be used as a solution for this "wicked problem."

Summer 2013---- Professors: Punya Mishra, Danah Henriksen, and William Cain

In CEP 800 we took a deeper look at the psychological aspects of teaching.  This was important for my professional development because adding experience to my studies really brought true meaning to the theories.  In addition to theories we create a DreamIT project which simulated a grant writing experience of making technology a reality in our classrooms.

In CEP 815 we explored how being a leader in technology can be beneficial not only in your own classroom but in your professional life.  We discussed tools and strategies for engaging interest in others in our schools and how to be a true leader of technology.  This includes introducing tools and being a resource for others both in your district and virtually.

Summer 2012------ Professors: Alison Keller, Jodi Spicer, Craig McMichael

In CEP 811, we spent a lot of time looking at technologies that were not designed for education and  practiced repurposing them.  This term repurpose was used on both new and old tools and focused on creating meaningful lessons from everyday things.  In particular we created Web Based Inquiry Projects and looked at how social media such as Twitter can be used in the classroom.

Fall 2012 ------ Professor: Rand Spiro and Hanna Klautke

In CEP816 we discussed the advantages and disadvantages of using technology in the classroom.  This includes how teachers must be creative and repurpose tools to make them apply to the education world.  Using the book Blogs, Wikis and Podcasts by Will Richardson we discussed and explored a variety of tools.  We spent a lot of time reviewing and conversed in small groups about the RSA animated speech of Ken Robinson on Changing Education Paradigms.

Spring 2013------ Professor: Erin Jurand

In TE 846 we had the chance to learn how literacy can be incorporated in every curriculum.  Here I learned about different literacy programs that are implemented in schools and even conducted my own case study.  It was interesting to learn about how students today are receiving interventions and accommodations in areas they are struggling.

Fall 2013------ Professors: Matthew Koehler

In CEP 807 we create a final product while reflecting on the past 9 classes of the MAET program.  Here we create a final showcase of our work and have a professional product to share with collugues and future employers.

Summer 2013---- Professors: Punya Mishra, Danah Henriksen, and William Cain

In  CEP822 we explored a variety of articles that discussed the common misconceptions that take place in learning.  We developed our own ideas and explored strategies to help identify and correct these situations.  In doing this we created a research project where in groups we explored a common misconception, interviewed people and created conclusions about their learning.

Spring 2013------Professors: Sean Leahy, April Niemela, and Andrea Zellner

In CEP 820 we had the chance to build our own online class.  This was an opportunity to learn more about blended learning and how students today will learn in the future.  It was a great chance to explore different Learning Management Systems and view other classmate's LMS curriculums
